Our Rapid Services Team provides a variety of housing supports

Manitoba Métis Federation's Rapid Services coordinates and provides services through a coordinated effort to provide better outcomes for our Red River Métis Citizens through its community access point at 550 Selkirk Avenue.

Our meeting space is where Red River Métis Citizens who need urgent housing solutions can register and start to receive a wide variety of supports through the Rapid Services Team.

Combined with additional services provided within the Manitoba Métis Federation and others, the coordinated effort helps those in need with immediate support in an effective and culturally appropriate manner.

These services are available for all Red River Métis Citizens in MMF Regions and Locals across Manitoba.

Outreach

Rapid Services will continue to work with internal and external partners to strengthen the MMF's outreach and to ensure that our approach is guided by the principles of harm reduction.

It is incredibly important to strengthen relations with those who have disconnected from services designed to help them transition into safe and affordable housing.

The MMF aims to collect Red River Métis-specific data on homelessness, including the number of Citizens who are unhoused or at risk of homeless in Manitoba. To the best of its abilities, the MMF will help Citizens access programs that will offer shelter under a housing first model while providing supports to ensure they can be reintegrated successfully into society.

Rapid Services Financial Assistance (RSFA)

The goal of the Rapid Services Financial Assistance is to provide financial relief to Red River Métis Citizens who are having difficulty paying for basic necessities such as food, water, clothing, shelter, heat, education, and health care. Financial relief will also be available to low-income Red River Métis Citizens who have been affected by COVID- 19, are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, or in an unstable housing situation.

To receive financial assistance, clients must provide proof of Red River Métis Citizenship, be at least 18 years of age, provide proof of income, and have a social insurance number. Rapid Services can help obtain any missing documentation.
